I orginally went the first night because my migraine was so bad
Hey, I wanted to tell you real quick that when I was in the er almost three months ago, I orginally went the first night because my migraine was so bad. I had to go back to a different er the night after that because they did a spinal tap the first night, but did not bother telling me “anything” that goes along with a spinal tap. Like the fact that you have to go home and lay flat for a couple of days and some other stuff. So, I ended up getting what they call a “spinal tap headache”. I seriously thought I was going to die and I so badly wanted too. I had to end up having a blood patch the day after the second night. Anyways, so the second night I was in the er they gave me Dilotted (hydromorphone). I can’t even begin to tell you how much that drug helped me. I had relief within a matter of seconds and I have NEVER had that happen before. Too bad that it is very addicting, or else I would beg my doctor to give me that for the really really bad migraines. I would much rather do that instead of sitting around in a waiting room watching me being passed up so many times and waiting for hours on end. I hate it.
most docs or even neuros will NOT prescrib narcs I can’t even believe that after I told my now neurologist that narcs do not help me, they make my bp go up and make my headache worse though it depends on the migraine and the pain. I have only used lik 3 or less since i got them dec 3 so it isn’t like i use them a lot. it is all she gave me between that and ultran, which is an opiod(sp), which does help but any of these you can’t take more than 3 days.
the er here auto gives me diludid when i go for a horrid headache, they ended up giving me DHE after they had to call the headache clinic at the time. I have two er places to go to, one gives me the diludid and the other does demoral and the demoral they have to give me the max dose and send me home.
i did tell the neuro about me mixing the one midrin and the one vicodin and she said that is fine, as long as you are not mixing the triptans with midrin cause it already has one in it.
I’m glad that you asked your doc about mixing the meds, and I’m also glad that she said that it is ok because that helps you out more. I know the Dilotted is very powerful stuff, but it is the only thing that has ever worked for me in a matter of seconds. It was incredible! At least I know now of an er that would give it to me if I ever had to go again.
