I have experienced extreme fatigue from the migraines for the past six years
It hasn’t been until the last almost three months without the everyday migraines anymore that no matter what I do, I am still extremely tired all of the time. I thought that this would get better with time, seeing as how I was in bed most of 2002 because I was so sick, but absolutely nothing is happening. I have been trying to take vitamins on a regular basis, but that doesn’t seem to be helping either. Several weeks ago I noticed that while I would shower my skin (mostly arms and stomach), were very sensitive to the touch. I also have had some muscle achiness. I have mentioned it to my doctor more than several times about the fatigue, but he just seems to blow me off every time I mention it. I am hating this because although I am feeling better as far as the migraines go, and I want to get out and do more stuff now, I just don’t have the energy too. Does anyone else experience this type of thing? Or has anyone in the past??? I would more than greatly appreciate it if anyone can respond. I feel like I am going crazy and I feel like I am just a lazy person, which normally (without the migraines), I am not. I thought that sense the migraines are better my energy level would be better, but I guess I am very wrong. I do not take the Frovatriptan on a daily, or even lately a weekly basis anymore so I know that it can not be from that. About two weeks ago I guess I decreased the amount of Remeron that I was on from 15mg to 7.5mg. I know that it can make me tired, because it is also used to help me sleep at night, but I don’t think that it would last ALL day everyday from that.
I’m quite known for hiring and firing docs, and if my doc blew off my complaints about anything, I’d inform him that I would be seeking another doc’s expertise to help me. You are his employer (or at least your insurance company is..) No patient, no insurance, no $$$. He may be great for your migraines, but apparently this other thing is not in his repertoire. I don’t mean to sound crass, and I do know how hard it is to get in and get started with a new doc, but it can be well worth it. You deserve for all of your concerns to be taken seriously, no matter what the doc actually thinks of them.
Food intolerances, yeast overload, allergies/sensitivities, not drinking enough fluids, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatique, a thyroid imbalence, depression, etc. can all make you feel bone tired/fatiqued and not sleep well. I’m sure there are plenty more reasons, but those are the ones I’m most familiar with. Also, from what I understand, just the way the migraines can affect your body, even when you don’t actually have pain, can do it. It is so tiring for our bodies to fight a chronic pain condition. I hope this gives you a few leads. Please give your doc a call back if you think he may be willing to hear you out again, and really tell him how this is affecting your life in terms he can understand. How many hours of sleep are you getting? Are you falling asleep at work or wanting to? Missing days at work? Having trouble getting motivated to shower, eat, etc.? Having trouble making sure everything is done for your husband and kids? Those kinds of things. Maybe if he realizes how this is really changing your life, he will decide to pursue this with you. I wish you the best, and I appreciate your responses to my posts for Stacey.
Lupus and Fibromyalgia will cause the symptoms you mentioned. Migraines are very common with both of those diseases.
Thank you for your input. I really appreciate it. I had not thought of either of these two things before. I do have to tell you though, that I have been told over and over this past year that Fibromyalgia is also VERY common in women that have endometriosis. I am going to do some research of both of these and I will let you know what I come up with.
