My sister has menstral migraines and her gynocologist says IUD’s really work for those. He is putting one in her tomorrow. I hope it works. She’s praying it does. Has anyone tried this before? They refuse to let her do the patch you all have tried. I think I have told you what they said about that. They feel it throws you into early menopause. That is their theory though. I guess all Dr.’s have their own opinions. My sister can take no birth control. The only thing she has done in the past for birth control was darn i can’t think of the name but they insert those little things in your arms that look like little sticks that last for five years. Sorry. My mind is blank. Any way I wish her luck and hope this helps. Just wondering if anyone has tried the IUD for migraines.
The little sticks are called “Norplant”. My sister had them many, many years ago. She said she would not suggest them (of course not that you are). I am being taken off of the “Yasmin” because I have still not stopped spotting and it has almost been two months now. I have to go in on Friday and get a shot of Progesterone which my doctor’s nurse said should stop the spotting two days after the shot. And then I should have my “real” period two weeks after the shot. She said that the shot will kind of like jump start me again. I am then going to start “Ortho-Novum135″ somewhere inbetween there and again I will take that continuously like I was taking the Yasmin. Talk about hormones being totally out of whack. I am supposed to be traveling across the country to North Carolina with a good friend of mine to help her move on the first of March and boy am I hoping that I won’t be a total witch the whole time ; ) lol…
