I have had this migraine for almost a week now and migraines specifically for twenty some odd years. I have noticed that lately I have severe neck and shoulder pain along with ear pain. Not ear pain like an earache, but like someone has boxed me in my ears, hurt and bruising type of pain. Also, I have been by far more nauseous and dizzy than I have ever before. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions? I’m really so tired of it all. I’d love to just have one week totally free of it all.
I have had the same for almost two years now!! Almost daily. Like someone punched me right in the ear!! My shoulder hurts so bad i have gone to physical therapy with nothing. i have been told it is just from the migraines and a certain kind that effects the artery that is hooked to the cerebellum (or something like that) so one gets dizzy, ear pain, and shoulder pain! Not sure what the specific name of it is (something like bickerstaff). Nothing really has helped mine. I know
there are streches that you can do to help the pain in the shoulder and trigger points you can massage that helps. Caffine also may help because it will reduce the swelling. Not sure what else to say but good luck and i hope it ends soon!!
That’s how I feel. Last time I went to the doctor, less than a month ago, he prescribed muscle relaxers - cyclobenzaprine/flexeril - along with Midrin. No go, doesn’t work. I’m so sick of taking medicine when nothing works. Thank you for the information. I’ll check into the stretching. I hope that you find something that works for you.
There is only one way I know about to stop shoulder pain. It may sound wierd, but it works 90 percent of the time.
I lay on the bed, face down. I have my husband kneel beside me and dig his elbow into the area of my pain!! I read about this online and the person who wrote about it said the same thing as I now say. You have to have the person with the elbow press *very* hard and I will tell you that it hurts like heck!! But if they can press hard and drag their elbow down while doing it… they can get the knot out! There is a muscle knot that causes the pain.
Warning: person who uses their elbow sure does complain a lot that it hurts them!!
